Installation

How Your Wallbox Installation Works

  1. Photo quote. Send us photos of your switchboard and the spot you want the charger. You get a written, fixed, itemised quote — usually the same day.
  2. One-visit installation. We run a dedicated circuit, mount and wire the Pulsar, install the Power Boost meter if selected, and protect any outdoor cabling in conduit. Most jobs take 3–5 hours.
  3. Configuration & handover. We connect the charger to your WiFi, set up the myWallbox app on your phone, schedule night-rate charging, run a live charge test with your car, and issue your Certificate of Compliance.

Every installation is completed by EWRB-registered electricians to NZ wiring rules (AS/NZS 3000), and the CoC is yours to keep for insurance and resale. Read more about the process on our home EV charger installation page.

Supplied and installed, a Pulsar Plus is $2,250–$2,570 incl. GST and a Pulsar Max around $2,870 incl. GST — including our flat $875 installation labour for cable runs up to 10m, all wiring, app configuration and the Certificate of Compliance. Already own a Wallbox? Installation is $875 incl. GST. For a garage or sheltered wall, the Pulsar Plus does everything most homes need at the lower price. Choose the Pulsar Max when the charger will live fully exposed to the weather — its IP55/IK10 enclosure shrugs off rain, impacts and coastal air. Charging performance is identical at 7.4kW.

Yes — with the optional power meter fitted, Eco-Smart mode charges from your surplus solar, either blended with grid power or solar-only.
